SIMON WEITZMAN

Simon Weitzman is a highly experienced and versatile Network TV Director, Producer, Author, and Artist with a career spanning over 35 years. Proven ability to conceive, direct, and produce compelling documentaries, factual entertainment, and music programming for major broadcasters including BBC, HBO, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky TV, Malaysian TV, and Disney TV. As an accomplished author, Simon has published several successful books on music and sport, including a title recognized by St Andrews University as a top influential work. His creative talents extend to sculptural art, with notable commissions for high-profile figures for charitable causes, and a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities through creative endeavors.

Directed and produced a feature documentary about Chris O’Dell (Beatles PA and Rolling Stones tour manager), with DOP Chris Purcell (May 2025). Also one of the interviewers. [Secured initial distribution in several territories.]

Directed and produced the feature documentary "A Love Letter To The Beatles" with David L Simon (October 2025). [Secured distribution with Liverpool West Productions Inc.]

Currently directing and producing a feature documentary about International Beatles Week in Liverpool (due for release 2026). [Expected to be the most comprehensive film on the event in its 40+ year history.]

Directed and produced a documentary about renowned airbrush artist, Shannon MacDonald (due for completion 2026). Also the main interviewer.

A feature documentary featuring Beatles expert Mark Lewisohn

(due for release 2026). [Follows the highly acclaimed stage show in London.]

Produced and assisted on a short film by Oliver Hellowell (nature photographer with Down Syndrome), supporting his directorial debut for the film festival circuit (winner of best first film at the Together! 2026 Disabled Film Festival December 2026 and potential TV broadcast. [Successfully funded through crowdfunding and charitable donations.]

Currently developing and producing a documentary series about author Alan Dean Foster (pilot episode completed; seeking funding for the series). [Secured the involvement of Alan Dean Foster as Executive Producer.]

Directed short features for BBC1's "The One Show" on topics including Autism, Down Syndrome, and the recovery of lost Beatles footage.

Directed numerous music videos for artists including Erasure, Level 42, Incognito, and The Only Ones, including music license clearance. Selected as a cameraman for iconic music videos by Depeche Mode and Duran Duran (utilizing Super 8 and Super 16mm).

Worked as a Director of phone content company 3GX, which produced screensavers and ringtones for various phone manufacturers and networks. [Oversaw the creation of thousands of screensavers and ringtones for the main UK mobile phone networks and international handset manufacturers.]

Organizes an annual concert for Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir at The Cavern Club, Liverpool. [Raising continued dementia awareness.]
